Researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and practitioners are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the 5th International Symposium on Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC 2027).
The symposium will bring together the international community working on hydrothermal carbonization, hydrochar materials, and related thermochemical conversion technologies.
Accepted contributions will be presented as oral presentations or posters during the symposium.
Symposium Topics
Abstract Submission
Abstract submission will be conducted through the symposium submission system.
Authors will be asked to provide:
- Title of the contribution
- Author list and affiliations
- Abstract text
- Preferred presentation format (oral or poster)
- Topic selection

Abstract submission opening — 1 September 2026
Abstract submission deadline — 15 January 2027
Notification of acceptance — 15 March 2027
Early registration deadline — 15 April 2027
Symposium dates — 8-11 June 2027
Abstract Guidelines
Authors are kindly requested to follow these guidelines when preparing their abstract:
- Maximum length: 300–400 words
- Language: English
- Abstract should clearly state:
- objectives of the work
- methodology
- key results
- main conclusions
Figures and references are generally not required in the abstract.
Further instructions will be provided in the abstract template.
Presentation Types
Accepted abstracts will be assigned to one of the following formats:
Oral presentations
Selected contributions will be presented during thematic scientific sessions.
Poster presentations
Poster sessions will provide an opportunity for interactive discussion and networking.
Review Process
All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee based on:
- scientific quality
- relevance to the symposium topics
- clarity of presentation
Authors will be notified of acceptance after the review process.
