How to get to the conference?<\/h1>\n

From Cagliari Airport to the city centre<\/strong><\/h3>\n

By train
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The train is a fast and easy way to go from Cagliari Elmas Airport<\/strong> to the city center and vice versa. The train service starts at 6.00 am and ends at 22.00 with trains running almost every 20 minutes. The journey to and from the center takes 5-10 minutes. Tickets are sold by Trenitalia at the vending machines (both in the arrivals area of the airport and inside the Elmas airport train station) or online. The Elmas airport train station is about a 5-minute walk from the arrivals area. The quickest option from the airport is to take a taxi. A standard trip during the day costs around 20 euros.
\nNote: you must know that\u00a0 there is not elevator so you have to use some stairs, is not recommended if you have a lot baggage<\/p>\n

By taxi<\/strong>
\nit takes between 10 \/ 15 minutes. \u00a0The cost is around \u20ac18 \u2013 \u20ac25<\/p>\n

By bus<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is not a bus to connect the city and the airport except in the hours \u00a0when the train line is closed.
\nLate arrivals and departures can use the bus service at the following times:
\n\u2013 To the Airport from\u00a0 Cagliari take the bus \u201cPiazza Matteotti\u201d 23:30 to arrive at the \u00a0Airport 23:40
\n\u2013 From the Airport to Cagliari the bus schedule at 23:45 to arrive to Cagliari at 23:55<\/p>\n

Rent a car
\n<\/strong>There are a lot of main rent companies\u00a0 located in the Airport<\/p>\n

Local transport in Cagliari
\n<\/strong>Cagliari boasts one of the most efficient local transport systems in Italy . To get around Cagliari you can use the bus service, the metro overground or Cabubi bike sharing. Cycle lanes have increased threefold in the last 5 years. If you don\u2019t feel like walking, you can rent a car. There is also a car-sharing service in town.<\/p>\n

From Via Roma Port by bus<\/strong>
\nThe port is in the centre of Cagliari. From the nearby Piazza Matteotti, take the number 8 bus towards \u201cPoliclinico\u201d and get off\u00a0 in front of the Roman Amphitheater after approximately 8 \/10 minutes.

\nFrom Via Roma head Northwest\u00a0 turn onto, Via Sassari, or\u00a0 Largo Carlo Felice
\nOn largo Caro Felice continue through Piazza Yenne and\u00a0 turn left to\u00a0 \u201c Corso Vittorio Emanuele\u201d\u00a0 just 100 mts o your right hand you will find\u00a0 the pathway turn right onto \u201cporto scalas\u201d straight you will find Via Sant\u2019Ignazio da Laconi\u00a0 you keep going up\u00a0 the hill towards\u00a0 and turn right the Via San\u2019Ignazio da Laconi continues and you will find the University of Cagliari. The conference is on the left entrance.<\/p>\n

From via Roma by\u00a0 Via Sassari Head\u00a0northwest\u00a0on\u00a0Via Roma\u00a0toward\u00a0Via Giovanni Maria Angioy (takes about 12 minutes)

In the centre you can find the Villanova<\/strong> district which is the prettiest district with its small shops boutiques and a large variety of restaurants and pubs to enjoy summer night life where you can eat or drink outside for most months of the year.
\nOne of the famous neighborhoods is Castello<\/strong>,the old walled part of the Cagliari which is located in the highest part of the city . Here you can enjoy the magnificent sea views from its pretty terraces. The area of \u201cPorta Cristina\u201d with its the numerous panoramic places is rich in monuments and museums to visit such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria and the medieval towers of \u201cthe Elephant\u201d and \u201cSan Pancrazio\u201d.
\nMarina<\/strong> is the district located at the foot of the walled fortress area, Castello. It also lies in front of the port and you can walk around its busy narrow streets and along the famous arched walkway of Via Roma as far as the beautiful Palazzo Civico, or you can reach historic buildings such as the Santa Eulaia church on foot while strolling up little roads full of restaurants and pubs.
\nAt the top of a hill a couple of kilometers from Via Roma stands the Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria<\/strong> this is a very residential area is not in downtown area but you can easily reach it by bus or walk there in about 10 minutes.
